Our Story

Founded with a love for bold Kenyan street flavours, Marus Bhajia House began as a family business brought to life through passion and tradition. What started with a simple plate of Crispy Bhajias soon became a local favourite, quality and authenticity.

Every batch of our Kenyan-style Bhajias is prepared fresh, seasoned to perfection, and served with the same care we started with. From our Signature Chutneys to our famous fresh passion fruit juice, we craft each bite and sip to bring people together and create moments worth sharing.

Maru’s Bhajiya brings authentic flavour traditions alive. Freshly crafted with crisp textures that delight every bite and moment. Celebrate warmth, joy, and community through savoury bites made to share with love.

1960–1974

The Origins of Maru’s Tradition

Maru’s story began in Kenya with fresh juices, classic family recipes, and the simple act of selling everyday utensils.

Early snacks, such as Bhajias with Chutney and Dal Bhajias, quickly became beloved favourites.
These first flavours shaped the foundation of Maru’s, rooted in community, family, and true Kenyan street heritage.

1974–2025

Growth, Innovation, and Legacy

The brothers travelled from Kenya to London, bringing with them years of tradition and a passion for sharing bold, authentic flavours. With more determination, they opened the very first Maru’s Bhajia outlet in Wembley.

Over the years, the menu grew to include Kenyan Bhel, Mogo, Falooda, and fresh juices. By the 2000s, Maru’s had become fully established, celebrated for its Signature Maru Bhajia and Special Chutney.
